Kohima, Aug. 10 (EMN): Advisor of Technical Education and Elections, Medo Yhokha, on Wednesday affirmed that the state government was seriously concern for the welfare of women and to promote entrepreneur opportunities for their self-sustenance and economic uplift.

He stated this during the 6th foundation day-cum-Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration of Japfüphi Women Livelihoods and Credit Cooperative Society (JWLCCS) Ltd. at CMTC in Jakhama town.

He has highlighted various initiatives of the state government led by the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, including enactment of Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (SARFAESI) on local context, CM Micro-finance Initiatives, efforts to attract CSR funding and holding education fest.

He asserted that the state government has been holding negotiations with various financial institutions to provide credit facilities to the local entrepreneurs and self help groups (SHG).

He has lauded the efforts of JWLCCS towards women empowerment and livelihood sustenance activities and urged the members to passing on the culture of hardworking to the youngsters. Yhokha, who is also the MLA from Southern Angami-I AC, has assured to extend support to the prospective entrepreneurs and SHGs from the Southern Angami area so as to encourage people to take up self-sustaining activities.

Yhokha also encouraged women to come forward and involve themselves in politics and decision making bodies. While appreciating the motto of JWLCCS “Happy Women, Hally Family, Happy Village,” he expressed hope that they would continue to make sincere efforts towards the economic uplift of the women, family and village in the area.

He further sought support and cooperation with the government in reaching the policies and programmes, including the centrally sponsored schemes to the genuine beneficiaries.

The block programme manager of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, Block Mission Management Unit, RD Block Jakhama, Vitsituo Mepfhü-o, gave an introduction to MCLF and also delivered the keynote address.

The society’s activities were shared by its finance secretary, Sevonu Seletsu, while an audit report was presented by the manager, Khoto Sale.
