Govt regularises work-charged and casual employees

DIPR Dimapur, April 8 Nagaland government has declared a scheme for regularisation and absorption of work-charged and casual employees with revision of their pay and wages, after due consideration of the report of Work-charged and Casual Employees Commission and in compliance with the High Court’s order. Chief Secretary, Pankaj Kumar, during a meeting of AHODs and HODs in Kohima on Tuesday, said that the regularization in service is subject to the condition that all existing work-charged and casual employees of various departments who are enjoying scale pay and who have completed 30 years and above on continuous services as on 01-01-2015 will be regularized by conversion of their post into regular ones after being verified and found genuine by the district level verification committee constituted by the Government of Nagaland. He said that as per availability of service records including appointment order, date and initial appointment proof of length of service and age and their suitability for continuation in service should be recommended by the Heads of Department concerned. The Chief Secretary also mentioned that the post occupied by the work charged on regularization shall automatically stand abolished as and when they vacate the post on retirement, resignation, death etc. The strength of the work charged and casual under various departments will stand reduced by equal numbers concurrently with the regularization of such employees and no fresh appointment will be made against the post on regularization the pay of the incumbent will be fixed at the minimum of the corresponding pay band and grade pay as admissible under rule 10 of Nagaland Services ROP Rules 2010.
