Dimapur, Jan. 24 (EMN): The state’s department of Power has ordered removal of all “cables, wires, pipes etc. strung between electric poles within any town jurisdictions” within three months. In an order issued on Thursday, the department stated that those objects were hazardous to persons involved in repair/maintenance works of the lines besides hindering line maintenance/repair works; increasing the probability of accidents/fatalities. “Working with electricity is inherently risky, so to reduce the added risk, stringing of any type of cables, wires, pipes etc. between electric poles will not be permitted within town limits, hereafter,” it announced.
