Govt. officials advised to respect subordinates, work together

Our Correspondent Kohima, July 13 (EMN): Government servants, especially those in important positions and responsibilities should be humble and respect those who work with them. It is the subordinates at work who will extend more help, for which the officers should not underestimate their subordinate workers, but to work together and help one another. This was the advice a retired government gave to government officials from Meriema village in Kohima district during a programme on Saturday. The president of the organisation Neidilhou Keditsu also spoke at the event. In his address, he urged the officers to work together and to uplift the society. The Meriema Village Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (MVGOK) observed its first foundation day on July 13 in the village’s council hall. There are 41 gazetted officers from the village including 21 retired members and 17 officers who got through the state and union civil service examinations and other competitive examinations. Retired principal director of the Health & Family Welfare department, Dr Neikietuo Chiesotsu attended the occasion as the ‘guest speaker.’ In his address at the gathering, Chiesotsu advised the officers to be sincere and humble in their respective profession. It is the subordinates at work who will extend more help, he said. He urged the officers not to underestimate those who work under them. He urged them to work with them and to help one another. The president of the organisation Neidilhou Keditsu also spoke at the event. In his address, he urged the officers to work together and to uplift the society. ‘If people in the village are educated, they can help others as well,’ he said. Keditsu urged them to give their best service to the community. During the programme, the gazetted officers who were successful in the Nagaland Public Services Commission, Union Public Services Commission, and other examinations; and retired heads of departments and retired officers were acknowledged. Some of the other events that marked the union’s first foundation day were the approval of constitution, logo, and motto.
