Dimapur, August 15 (EMN): The Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya and his lady wife offered puja and darshan on the occasion of Janmashtami at Durgabari Mandir, Shree Hindu Mandir, Singhadevi Gorkha Mandir and Hindu Mandir for Radhakrishna Mandir on August 14.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor called upon everyone to strive and build a world free from malice and full of brotherhood and compassion. He said Lord Krishna’s noble message of righteous conduct and action should inspire each and every one so as to strengthen the moral foundations of the society and strive selflessly to take the country to new heights. He also encouraged all to perform ones duties righteously and added that good results will follow right actions.
“Every linguistic society should have their temples for social and cultural activities. It is not a contradiction to have temples for different societies, we are all one,” he said. Different temples should not be the reason for division, he added.
Stating that the Mughals and British had enslaved the country for so many years because of the disunity of the people, he called for unity to build a strong nation.
The Governor also gave offerings for all the temples from Raj Bhavan Kohima.
