Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): Nagaland governor, PB Acharya, has called upon the people of Nagaland to thank voluntary blood donors for their life saving gift of blood.
In his message to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), Acharya said, “We don’t just need to give blood in the event of tragedies or emergencies. Instead, it should be a normal and routine part of our lives.”
In an updates from the Raj Bhavan, Acharya stated that every year June 14 was observed as WBDD so as to raise awareness on the need to donate blood regularly in order that quality, safety, and availability of blood for patients were ensured. Acharya also urged the university students, NGOs, civil organisations, Scout and Guides, etc. to organise blood donation camps on different occasions. “It is a healthy gesture. We must keep this aptitude up at any cost. Our blood banks are running short of required blood. By organising such blood donation camps, we may help them to enrich their capacity and save precious human lives,” he added.
The governor further urged the citizens to come forward and donate blood as it was one of the most significant contributions that human could give towards the society.
