DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, has called upon the students to be job creators rather than job seekers and pay back to society through the knowledge earned after completing their academic pursuit.
The governor stated this during the 32nd convocation of Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute in Chennai as the chief guest on Friday.
He congratulated the founder and chancellor, Dr. AC Shanmugam, for his contributions to society in the field of education through his various educational institutions and acknowledged the institute for contributing to the basic needs in the fields of health and education through their technical institutions and medical colleges and hospitals.

He stated that the students are in a unique and gifted generation that is immensely exposed to the advantages of science and technology and expressed hope that they were well equipped through their learning to meet the challenges ahead successfully, a press release issued from the Raj Bhavan said.
While reminding that the world before them is not only large but is fast growing with new technologies and opportunities arising every day, he wished that their technical knowledge and education would help improve the quality of life of every Indian citizen and create a bright and sustainable future for the country.
The opening and closing remarks of the convocation were delivered by the founder and chancellor, Dr. AC Shanmugam, while the rector of Kursk State Medical University, Dr. Victor Anatolyevich Lazarenko, handed over the Honorius Causa to Dr. AC Shanmugam.
Rector of R&D, Dr. D Viswanathan, administered the pledge and the vote of thanks was pronounced by additional registrar-medical, Dr. M Sasirekha.
