Governor greets Kukis

Dimapur, Nov. 02 (EMN): The Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has extended festival greetings to the Kuki community on the occasion of Kut.
A press communiqué from the Raj Bhavan stated that the Governor while describing the festival as a happy occasion for the community whose stock of food is plentiful after a year of tremendous hard labour, the Governor reminded all to thank the Almighty for His unwavering love and blessing.
“Kut festival is a thanksgiving festival which includes songs and dances along with marry making and viewed that the festival should provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength,” it added.
He also stated that the festival should be a source for building unity and called on all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and all round development in the State.
“May the festival of Kut bring peace, unity and prosperity to the community, ” the Governor added.

Calls for border area devp.
The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya while addressing the 48th Conference of Governors at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, stressed on the need to develop border areas of the nation.
He maintained that emphasis should be made to establish schools, colleges, health institutions etc. in the border areas where development is lacking so as to give equal opportunity to all sections of the society.
He also suggested for Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the government as the facilitator in education, health sector etc.
