Governor, Rio greet Garo community on Wangala festival

Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has greeted the Garo community on the occasion of Wangala festival.

“Wangala is a time to celebrate with joy and gratitude for the plentiful harvest. Villages collaborate to observe this festival, it fosters friendship and unity, and also makes the younger generation more aware of the Garo’s rich ancient history and culture,” Ravi stated.

He also stated that it is imperative not only to observe the beautiful festival safely but also be exponents of Covid-19 protocols wherever they might be.

On the auspicious occasion, he wished everybody good health, happiness and prosperity.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also took to Twitter to convey festive greetings to the Garo community.

“Greetings to the Garo community on the happy occasion of Wangala. May it bring blessings of good health, peace and prosperity to all. I wish you a happy and safe Wangala,” he wrote.
