Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland Prof. Jagdish Mukhi has extended greetings to the Konyak community on the occasion of Lao-Ong Mo festival.
He said Lao-Ong Mo is a post-harvest festival and a thanksgiving celebration to God for a bountiful harvest.
“Members of the Konyak community take part in the revelry with families and friends, rekindling kinship.
“It is very important for the youth to preserve their rich culture and traditions, which should be manifested in their way of life through hard work, honesty and unity along with the colourful songs and dances,” he shared.
The governor also urged to celebrate the festival following all COVID-19 protocols, and wished all good health, peace and prosperity.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also extended greetings to the Konyak community on the occasion of Lao-Ong Mo. “May the festivities strengthen kinship and foster new relations,” he shared.
