Nagaland Governor constitutes committee to examine on disabilities

DIMAPUR — In pursuance of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, Nagaland Governor has constituted a committee to examine cases of request for exemption of posts from the notified list of identified posts for persons with benchmark disabilities.

According to a DIPR report, the committee would consist of commissioner and secretary under P&AR department as chairperson; secretary of P&AR department as member secretary; and commissioner and secretary of Social Welfare department; commissioner and secretary of Health Family Welfare and state commissioner for persons with disabilities as members.

Term of reference for the committee

1. To consider and recommend cases received from various departments requesting exemption of various posts from the notified list of identified posts for persons with benchmark disabilities.

2. The committee shall meet biannually to consider and recommend such cases which may be referred to the committee from time to time.

3. To examine, consider, update the list of posts identified and earmarked for persons with benchmark disability and inclusion of new abbreviations in the disability category.
