Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The governor of Nagand, PB Acharya, congratulated Vechüloü Kanuo and the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS) on being awarded the prestigious CII Foundation Women Exemplar Award 2018 under micro-enterprise segment which was received from the vice president of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, on April 8 at New Delhi. A message congratulating the awardees was received from the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
The governor, in his message, said that the award appropriately recognises her valuable contributions and efforts to transform the lives of innumerable rural women and communities by empowering them economically and socially.
Acharya also stated, “That creating more micro-entrepreneurs in the society was the need of the hour as it reduces the burden of job creation and encourages self-sufficiency with the use of minimal and available resources. He also hoped that award will encourage the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society to set higher goals so that more rural populace benefit and achieve their goals.”
The Governor also encouraged the Chakhesang Women Welfare Society to transform the Naga society with their persistent efforts and approach for economic empowerment of the people of Nagaland.
