Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended Mimkut greetings to the Kuki community and to the people of Nagaland on Monday.

Mukhi shared that this festival expresses ‘exhilaration and triumph over the harvest of Mim (Maize) which is the last harvest crop of the season’.

During the celebration, the Kuki community exhibits their traditions and customs, and their ethnic culture is also expressed through art work that represents their roots.

“This festival is also a time to remember the loss of our loved ones.

“On this joyous occasion, May God bless you all with a healthy and a prosperous life,” he conveyed.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio shared greetings on Mimkut, the harvest festival of the Kuki community.

“May the festivity foster oneness and be a harbinger of blessings in everyone’s life,” he said.
