Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): State Governor, PB Acharya, has advocated change of mindset among the people for development to take place in the State and also encouraged the youth to consider taking up entrepreneurship as a career option to strengthen society economically.
Acharya stated this at the inauguration of ‘Farmers Mela’ organised by Bade village council in association with the organic farmers of Bade on May 17 in Bade village, Dimapur.
“If we want to see our state developed, we need to change our mindset from being self-centred and build each other up for developing the state,” he said.
Stating that Nagaland is blessed with many natural resources, he said “Ours is an agricultural society and our organic produce must have a proper market and our kisans should have a prosperous record.”
The Governor appealed to the universities and professionals to invest their knowledge in working for the interest of the nation. “University is the backbone of the society and the state as a whole of any developed society,” he added. He called upon the universities to come up with the best strategies for strengthening them through education.
He also encouraged the youth to consider taking up entrepreneurship as a career option as he opined that it would strengthen the society economically. He also asked the students, not to be job seekers but to be job givers by exploring entrepreneurship along the way for the development of the state.
Emphasising on the importance of unity, the Governor urged the people to respect and uphold the unique culture and diversity of the region.
Besides, the Governor urged the national banks to support the villagers by giving loans till they are able to sustain themselves.
On the occasion, Acharya and his wife released two birds symbolising love and respect to nature.
The Governor also gave away cash prizes and certificates to Wilson Bono for securing 13th position in HSLC examination 2019 and to Vedolu Vero for securing 3rd position in PSLCE of that area.
