Governor Acharya urges Civil Aviation for daily AI services

EMN DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 18 GOVERNOR PB Acharya met Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati in New Delhi today and discussed with him the air connectivity problem being faced by the State since the Air India reduced its operation of seven days to five days in a week. The Governor urged the Union Minister to immediately restore the Air India daily services as done in the past and also to provide helicopter services from Dimapur to Kohima to help such segments of population who can afford the helicopter service. The Union Minister assured the Governor to surely do his best, especially keeping in mind the upcoming Hornbill Festival in the State in the first week of December. He also informed the Governor that he would speak to DoNER Minister to provide the necessary viability gap to cover the loss of Air India to operate in the Dimapur- Kolkata sector. Secretary, Joint Secretary and Director of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, CMD of Air India and Resident Commissioner, Nagaland House, New Delhi were also present at the meeting, according to a release issued by Kuolie Mere, PRO.
