Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on Monday said the double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Centre and state will continue to be the catalyst of growth and prosperity for Nagaland.

The minister, who arrived in the state on a two-day visit, left for Mokokchung upon arrival at Dimapur airport on Monday to accompany the BJP intending candidates for the filing of nomination papers.

“The BJP-NDPP alliance will work for PM Narendra Modi ji’s vision of Peace, Development and Economic growth for Nagaland and be the catalyst for the youth of the state,” he was quoted as saying to the party karyakartas and leaders at Mokokchung, according to an update received here.

He also expressed confidence of the alliance getting a thumping win in the upcoming Assembly election.

The update informed that the union minister accompanied legislator Imkong L Imchen, who recently resigned from the NLA, for the filing of his nomination papers from 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency.

He was also said to be present at the nomination papers filing of state BJP president Temjen Imna Along, who is a also the minister of Higher and Technical Education, from Alongtaki AC.

“I am here to support him and I am sure that he will win comfortably,” said Chandrasekhar during an interaction with the the leaders and party karyakartas.

“Nagaland, like much of the Northeast, was ignored for long by the previous Central governments led by the Congress. This was simply because development of this region and its people was never on their agenda. In the past nine years our PM has worked relentlessly to bring opportunity prosperity and development to every Indian. The same has happened in Nagaland and whole of Northeast,” he added

Chandrasekhar, who has visited the state thrice during the past one year, will accompany BJP intending candidate Bashangmongba Chang for the filing of his nomination papers on Tuesday before leaving for New Delhi on the same day.
