To students, he said “work hard and bright future awaits all of us.”
Stressing on the importance of education, Kruse maintained that unless “we give focus to education, we cannot move forward,” as education is the key factor for good progress. He said nobody is born a thief or criminal but it is the society, family or environment that makes a man for what he is. “If we can educate the person and nurture them in a right way, everyone has got the capacity but it’s up to how we bring them up,” Kruse added.
Appreciating the local residents and citing the example of a step forward with a new school building, he commented “if you have the unity, and if you have the willingness to work together, you can achieve great things.
Zeruuzo Suohu in his brief history said the school is the first to be inaugurated after six schools namely Mezoma, New Market, Jakhama, Tsemenyu New, Dihoma, and Khonoma under Kohima district were upgraded to high school in 2010-11 under RMSA scheme. He said the new site for the GHS was bought by the colony for Rs.5.5 lac. and was inaugurated on February 27, 2012. However, he said due to a lengthy court case between the contractors, the construction was delayed and the actual works began only in February 2015.
To mark the occasion, the monolith was inaugurated by Kruse and dedicated by pastor UCRC, Kohima Zhabu Kuotsu.
