Government launches Niramaya health insurance scheme

- DIMAPUR — Aimed
at improving access to healthcare and support services to individuals with
autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and multiple disabilities, the
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has launched
the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme administered by the National Trust.
- An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare
informed that Niramaya scheme ensures comprehensive coverage, offering up to
INR1 lakh annually to eligible beneficiaries for hospitalisation, therapy,
corrective surgeries and alternative medicines.
- To avail the benefits, one must enroll and register with the
National Trust. It informed that documents such as disability certificate
having UDID card or UDID enrollment number with PWD certificate, address proof,
income certificate (for above poverty line), enrolment fee payment proof would
be required for registration.
- The enrolment and application must be facilitated through
any registered organisation (RO) registered with the National Trust. The
registered organisations (RO) in Nagaland are Care and Support Society in
Mokokchung near DC Office (9436017611), Cherry Blossoms Society in Kohima at
Lerie Chazou near CRPF camp (8974028113) and Jo Foundation in Kohima at Agri
Colony (9436000597).
