Government informs on registration for PMMVY

DIMAPUR — The additional secretary of Mission Shakti under Social Welfare department has informed regarding the state-level special registration drive (Panjikaran Abhiyaan) for PMMVY, a centrally sponsored conditional maternity benefit scheme under Mission Shakti.

The schemes provides monetary benefits of INR 5000 for pregnant women and lactating mothers for their first live birth and INR 6000 for the second child provided the child is a girl child through direct benefit transfer (DBT), which can be availed upto nine months after child birth.

A DIPR report informed that mothers of the second child born (girl child) on or after April 1, 2022, are eligible for registration for PMMVY benefits till December 31, 2023, as a special enrolment exercise.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a conditional maternity benefit programme of the Government of India implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development using the platform of the Anganwadi services.

It stated that women belonging to Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes; women who are partially (40%) or fully disabled; women holders of BPL/ National Food Security Act 2013 ration cards; women beneficiaries under PMJAY under Ayushman Bharat; women holding E-shram card; women farmers who are beneficiaries under Kisan Samman Nidhi; women holding MGNREGA card job card; women whose net family income is less than INR 8 lakh per annum; pregnant and lactating AWWs/ AWHs/ ASHAs, and any other category as may be prescribed by the central government are eligible for the PMMVY schemes.
