Kohima, April 13 (EMN):
The government of India has extended visa, e-visa, or stay stipulation of foreign nationals, who are unable to leave the country due to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, up to April 30.

The Union Ministry for Home Affairs on Monday informed that it has “granted consular services on gratis (free) basis to foreign nationals, presently residing in India due to travel restrictions in the context of Covid-19 outbreak, till April 30, 2020”.

The extension will be applicable to regular visa, e-visa, or stay stipulation and to the foreigners whose visas have expired or would be expiring in the period between February 1, 2020 (midnight) to April 30, 2020, on gratis basis, after making online application, it stated.

The extension will be limited to those foreigners who have been stranded in India because of the Covid-19 pandemic and due to consequent travel restrictions imposed by Indian authorities, it added.
