Government departments hold farewell programmes for outgoing officers
DIMAPUR — The Rural Development (RD) department bid farewell to its outgoing Director Azenuo Pienyü, SO-II Kavito Achumi, and MTS Vishito Swu, at the RD Conference Hall in Kohima on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Rural Development and State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Metsubo Jamir, lauded the outgoing officers and staff for their valuable services rendered to the department.
Jamir impressed upon them to continue contributing to society even after their retirement by utilising the wisdom and experiences gained during their service, according to an update.
Commissioner and Secretary of Rural Development, Kevisa Kense, congratulated the retirees and wished them a successful retired life. He emphasised that satisfaction comes from a job well done, regardless of one’s rank. He commended their unwavering contribution and services to the department, particularly to the rural community.
Additional Director of Rural Development, K Inazhe Phuleshe, highlighted the notable achievements of the outgoing officers and staff, lauding them for their virtuous and sincere work throughout their many years of service to the department.
Outgoing Director Azenuo Pienyü thanked all ranks and files for their continuous support and input. He encouraged all officers to work harder to achieve their goals and uplift the rural people, while also urging them to extend the same cooperation to the incoming director.
Speeches were also delivered by outgoing officer Kavito Achumi, SO-II, and MTS Vishito Swu.
Industries and Commerce department.: A farewell programme in honour of retiring Director of Industries and Commerce, A Temjen Jamir, was held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce in Kohima on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, Jamir first entered government service as an extension officer in April 1989 and was subsequently promoted to the post of director on March 1, 2023. After serving the department for 35 years, he retired on April 30, 2024.
In his farewell speech, he attributed his success to God and thanked all the staff for their cooperation. He emphasised to the gathering the importance of embracing change and working as a team, calling on them to continue learning.
Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, in her speech, described Jamir as a man with a simple heart, humble, joyful nature, and a person full of determination to work for the people.
Commissioner and Secretary, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, stated in his speech that the department witnessed phenomenal growth under the leadership of Jamir. He added that Jamir will leave behind a rich legacy for others to follow.
Power department: A farewell event was also held for Chief Engineer (Transmission and Generation), Penrithung Yanthan, and Chief Engineer (Distribution and Revenue), Tiameren Walling, at the conference hall, Directorate of Power, Kohima, on Tuesday.
During the programme, K G Kenye, Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, expressed his appreciation for the invaluable contributions of the two outgoing chief engineers. He highlighted their guidance and extensive knowledge, stating that it had greatly assisted him in his work.
He wished them a happy retired life and a prosperous journey ahead.
In his speech, Walling thanked all the officers and staff of the Power department for their tireless efforts, lauded all the officers of the department for their constant help and added that with their help, he was able to run the office smoothly.
Yanthan highlighted his 35-year journey in the department, emphasising the numerous obstacles, hardships, and dangers he encountered along the way. He shared his perspective on how these challenges served to shape him and urged the gathering to cooperate and support one another.
