Gorkhas observe prayer service for Darjeeling

Kohima, June 24 (EMN): Concerned over the volatile situation in Darjeeling, pastors and leaders of Nepali/Gorkha Christian churches in Kohima cutting across denomination lines came together Saturday evening to pray for peace and normalcy in the land. The combined prayer service, held at Gorkha Nepali Christian Revival Church Nagabazar, was led by the church secretary Drona Sunar while chairman of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima (NBCK) Rana Chetri read the scripture and pronounced the invocation prayer. Pastors, associate pastors and representatives including- from NBCK, Surjay B Sapkota, Baptist Revival Church (BRC) Kharüzou DB Thapa, GNCRC Nabazar Joseph Magar, BRC Keiyieke Prakash, NCRC High School Kumar Karki, and NBF Peducha Maya Thapa shared words of peace. The gathering offered a special mass prayer for God’s wisdom to prevail and return of normalcy in ‘Gorkhaland’ at the earliest. Benediction was offered by evangelist of BRC Keiyiekie, Chandra Rai.
