Google has added new features to its Chrome address bar with five significant enhancements, aiming to refine the user experience. The improvements include smarter autocompletion, automatic typo corrections, searches within bookmark folders, suggestions for popular sites, and faster, easier-to-read results.

In a recent blog post, the company announced five improvements coming to Chrome’s address bar with the latest update.

The smarter autocompletion now allows Chrome to intelligently suggest URLs based on previous search terms, going beyond the need for precise beginnings of web addresses.

Chrome’s ability to detect and correct typos in URL names has been extended to desktop, Android, and iOS platforms. Immediate suggestions based on browsing history are now available, contributing to a more seamless user experience.

Users can conduct searches directly within their bookmark folders from the Chrome address bar on both desktop and mobile platforms. By incorporating the folder name in the search, users will receive tailored suggestions.

The address bar will now suggest popular sites, even for users who have not visited or have mistyped the URL. For example, typing “Google Earth” will prompt recommendations for the website, helping users discover recommended sites more easily.

Chrome’s desktop address bar has received visual and responsiveness enhancements, improving readability and ensuring faster results from the moment users start typing.

To ensure you have the most recent version on your mobile device, simply update Chrome through your app store. For desktop users, you can click the three-dot menu, select Settings, and then choose About Chrome.
