DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 22
Chief Ministers of Assam and Manipur are making all out efforts to obtain the fine-print of the ‘Framework Agreement’ that was signed between the government of India and the NSCN-IM on August 3 in New Delhi. Sources informed Eastern Mirror this evening that Tarun Gogoi and O Ibobi Singh are fervently exploring all possible avenues to get the contents of the ‘Framework Agreement’. The sources also disclosed that these two chief ministers are ‘using’ certain bureaucrats to obtain the documents.
A highly placed source said that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the NSCN-IM are not ‘willing’ to disclose the fine print of the ‘Framework Agreement’ even to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Meanwhile, three rounds of talks have been held so far between New Delhi and the NSCN-IM after Thuingaleng Muivah returned to the capital from Dimapur.
