God of War Ragnarok might launch in November
Despite speculations about potential delay in the launch of the highly anticipated PlayStation game God of War Ragnarok, a new report suggests that the game could hit consoles as early as November of this year.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the upcoming action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio is on schedule for a November 2022 release despite concerns about the game being delayed till 2023.
Bloomberg says that its sources have confirmed that Publisher Sony Group Corp. is expected to announce the game’s release date later this month.
A recent report by Europe’s Gamereactor had said that the game was not ready for launch this year. Not to mention, the game was absent in high-profile gaming events like the Summer Games Fest and Sony’s own State of Play. All of these factors led to speculation among fans and industry experts that the game could be delayed to 2023.
So, what is the verdict? The answer is we don’t know. Only an official comment from Sony or Santa Monica Studio will unravel the truth. However, if we assume that Bloomberg’s report is accurate, then it won’t be surprising as a lot of game studios often plan to release their games during November, especially on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
Either way, we are happy that a second God of War is in the works. We had a ton of fun playing the first game and we cannot wait to get our hands on this one too.
God of War Ragnarok is a direct sequel to 2018’s God of War and was announced back in 2020 for Sony’s PlayStation consoles. The upcoming title is expected to pick off where it left off in 2018 as players once again prepare to experience the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus.
God of War received critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike and won multiple awards including ‘Game Of The Year’. The game went on to sell nearly 20 million copies and its success saw it hit the PC market on January 14, 2022. Needless to say, God of War Ragnarok is expected to perform in a similar manner.
