Dimapur, March 6 (EMN): The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps, Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita called on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in Dimapur on Friday.
A defence press release informed that the GOC and the chief minister discussed about the prevailing ‘security situation’ in the state as well as along the Indo-Myanmar border.
“The chief minister appreciated the armed forces for their contribution in improving the security situation in the state. The chief minister also applauded the selfless sacrifices and support of the Army and Assam Rifles to the people of Nagaland towards their wellbeing,” read the statement.
The GOC apprised the chief minister of various measures being taken by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles ‘for achieving peace, development and prosperity in the state’, it added.
