Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): The general officer commanding the Spear Corps met with the governor of Nagaland RN Ravi on October 19 in Kohima to ‘review of security situation’ in Nagaland.
The press information bureau (defence wing) issued a note to the media on Sunday informing about the meeting. According to the updates, the military officer, who was not named in the press release, ‘discussed the security situation’ and apprised the governor about ‘the coordination by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles with other state agencies for maintenance of peace and tranquillity in the state and along the Indo-Myanmar border.’
Ravi was stated to have ‘lauded the untiring efforts of the armed forces in spite of various challenges and complemented them for the people friendly initiatives,’ the note stated.
The general officer assured the governor of the continued support of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles to the people of Nagaland for achieving lasting peace, development and prosperity, the note added.
