Mumbai, September 22 : No-frills carrier GoAir on Thursday announced commencement of additional flights to Kolkata , Guwahati and Bagdogara from New Delhi to cater to the increased passenger rush ahead of the Durga Puja festival.
Besides, the airline will also launch its maiden direct flight services on the Kolkata-Chennai route from early next month, GoAir said in a statement.
The introduction of additional flights will now ensure that GoAir flies to Bagdogra, the gateway to the Notheast, twice every day from the national capital, it said, adding the new service will be operational from October 3.
The third direct daily direct service for Kolkata from New Delhi will begin operations from October 4, it added.
Further, GoAir will be introducing its first-ever direct flight from Chennai to Kolkata from October 12 onwards, the statement said.
Earlier this month, the airline had announced launching its services to and fro Hyderabad, making the city its 23 domestic destination, from October 12.
At present, GoAir operates 144 flights per day or 975 flights per week to 22 domestic airports with a fleet of 21 Airbus A320, including A320neo.
