Kohima, April 1 (EMN): With the view to upgrade the student’s rationality on rural areas and exposure to city life, Government Middle School (GMS), Thenyizu organised an exposure trip to Dimapur on March 30 and 31. The exposure was the initiative of the staffs from GMS Thenyizumi.
The programme was to encourage young aspirations to get exposed to the city life and to give them a taste of ground reality other than being confined to the textbook alone.
The group of students visited Green Park, Nagaland Science Centre and Tea Garden. Altogether 42 students from Class V to VII along with teachers went for the exposure trip.
Head teacher, Zazhota Dawhuo, said the exposure was to enable the students to get experience of what is an ice-cream, a cup of tea at and a plate of food in a hotel. He also mentioned that “90% students have not even gone to Kohima, the collection per students is Rs.200/- only from the students, but many students couldn’t even pay for that” says Zazhota. He however said with the contribution from the well wishers and the teachers, the trip were able to continue.
Some of the students mentioned that the exposure was eye-opening experience and the 3D at the Science centre had amused them.
