Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): Mhainamtsi Government Middle School in Peren district received sets of science kits for elementary and secondary levels on March 25 from Socio-Economic Education and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS), Jalukie.
In a short programme, Rev. HM Gonmei, Director of SEEDS, stressed on the importance of quality education and encouraged the students to work hard and to further expect positive outcome from the facility. He said SEEDS, in collaboration with the VEC, will set up a separate science laboratory for the school.Stating that SEEDS is committed to serve the community and environment by linking/ bridging between the needy and the donors, he thanked the generous contribution of Tobin Holden, Principal of Wai Hai International School in China, and his wife Mrs Daina Holden, Head of Science Department, who were the sole donors of the science kits.
Rejoice Kamei, Headmaster of LMH School, Mhainamtsi, while lauding the GMS Mhainamtsi for being the first among government schools to receive the facility, urged the students to excel in studies by utilising the lab facility to the maximum and not let the opportunity go wasted.
Chairman VEC K Adin also appreciated the SEEDS and the Holdens for their Samaritan action and hoped that the facility would contribute for the uplift and progress of the school. The programme was chaired by Matthew Gonmei, vice president SEEDS, while the opening prayer was offered by Singamang, Head GB, and Mrs Adailiu, Teacher-in-charge GMS Mhainamtsi, delivered vote of thanks.
Dedication of the science kit was led by Kentipe, pastor MBC, and concluded with equipment display by Neiladai, Science Teacher. The programme was attended by hosts of members from SEEDS, VEC, village council, youth, church, teachers and students.
