GM dept. to regulate transportation of minor minerals
Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Director of Geology and Mining department, Wanthang Rengma has notified that the department will start regulating and controlling transportation of minor minerals such as sand, gravel, boulder, limestone, marble, granite clay, brick clay etc., with the approved mineral challan with immediate effect.
This was stated in an office order which is in pursuance to the government approval dated August 21. The order stated that the Director of Geology and Mining will be the issuing authority and Project Director, the signing authority of the mineral challan.
Further, the order stated that mineral royalty will be collected from all stakeholders and licensees, as per the rate prescribed in schedule 1 of the Nagaland Minor Mineral Concession Rule, 2004, till the revised royalty rate is notified.
The order sought for cooperation and all possible services from the district administration and law enforcing agencies, to the department field officers while implementing the aforesaid rules.
