Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): The Global Naga Forum (GNF) maintained that God and nature have made Nagas a people and a nation, while the human rights of the Nagas as a people are not for sale as the future of the Nagas belongs to all the Nagas and not in the hands of the government of India or a particular Naga group by themselves as two basic facts about the Nagas.
Affirming on the basic facts about Nagas, it opposed to any move, decision, or agreement that seeks to divide the Nagas and barter away the rights as a people now or in the future.
GNF stated this in responds to the recent statement of WC-NNPGs which was published in some section of the local dailies and to make its position clear on the Indo-Naga political issue.
A GNF’s statement issued by its media cell on Monday said, “We live in an unfortunate time and world of fake news and dubious alternative realities of our own making.” It, therefore, stated that it is critical for Nagas to hold fast to the most fundamental facts about themselves at this time.
It further stated that GNF is a diverse group of Nagas from around the world with members having deep roots in Naga history and commitment to the human rights of the Nagas as a people.
