Dimapur, November 21 : Governor PB Acharya on Monday underlined the need to accord more importance to Hindi as it is considered the common linking language of India.
He said this in the context of the people nowadays, obsessed with learning English, are forgetting the culture and languages of India.
Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Dayanand Vidya Niketand School at Purana Bazar, Dimapur, Acharya said Nagaland is known for producing the best chilli and ginger. Therefore, he requested Mahashay Dharampal Gulati, founder of MDH, to invest in Nagaland.
Minister for School Education & SCERT Yitachu observed that in Nagaland, more emphasis is given on learning English. “However, Hindi is of equal importance which can break the language barrier,” he stated.
