An Open Letter to the Minister, Transport, Civil Aviation and Railways, Land Resources.

Sir,
Good morning.

Recently I happened to travel to Manipur and for my homeward return I decided to board the Nagaland State transport facility. Upon interaction with the staff out there I was enlightened about the facility which has been running for the past fifteen years, I felt it was commendable to our government.

Unfortunately, the bust on duty on that day happened to be one which the government has neglected / not given due acknowledgement even for giving the government; the Interstate service since the day it was commissioned besides many domestic trips at home. The interior of the bus was like that of a beggar, broken body parts and the rainwater made its way into the seats very judiciously when the heaven opened. Aya! I exclaimed when the single windshield wiper that was fitted in the whole bus could not perform its duty. The driver brought us all safely home though, his dexterity in wielding the wheel and on the particular route as well for the past many years made him somehow comfortable and the Grace of our Almighty God brought us home in one piece. I felt sorry for the bus and for all of us who chose to board it that day. Understood that no one can say what will happen in the next moment even if the vehicles are new, technical lapses are inevitable though, but certainly, if our drivers are also given good buses/ vehicles to drive they too feel confident and comfortable and won’t hear unnecessary complaints from irate passengers for no fault of theirs because in our buses I have never seen any handyman to assist.

Therefore, I on behalf of all concerned request you to kindly give the bus NL-11 1325 a very good holiday during which the necessary repairs can also be made as the department does not lack at all in man power to take care on the technical hick ups, subsequently, it can come back on the track to prove its faithfulness. As a matter of fact many of our NST buses desire to be given retirement. They are like those senior citizens whom we see engaged in cleaning the road side drainages. Furthermore, quick completion of the lodging facility at the Imphal NST station will also certainly be a boon for our beloved citizens during travel.

Back home we all like to talk big and if someone claims to know something more than us we dare not let go the challenge. So, please let the people of other states see that our Government also has the guts to provide better facilities to its citizens and even to whoever chooses to avail them because we’d like to take pride in our government. Let the SUVs be in the service of the concerned, but give the citizens at least comfortable transportation facilities. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for your patient reading.
