Girl students acquainted on personal hygiene

Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): In commemoration of Swachh Shakti week, an awareness campaign on menstrual cycle was conducted for girl students at St.Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, by PHED (Rural) Division, Dimapur and sponsored by WSSO, Kohima.

In the programme, Imojungla Longkumer, sanitation and hygiene consultant delivered a talk on the subject. A movie on the topic was also shown to the students.

Principal of St.Paul Higher Secondary School, Sr. Ranit, while welcoming the organisers, also underscored the need for women, as the main agents of change, as they have the power to change their families, society and community they live in.

The programme was chaired by Mrs.Vibou Seyie, IEC consultant.

An inter-school painting competition on theme “Vision/Dream of a Clean Village,” was also conducted for girl students at Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur Covenant Hall.

The first prize was bagged by Renuka Debnath of St. Paul Higher Secondary School, Nikita Singh of MGM Higher Secondary School and Khushi Debnath of St. Mary Montessori Higher Secondary School was adjudged in second and third position respectively.

Anushka Bhattacharjee of St. Paul Higher Secondary School and Swagata Bhunia of Christian Higher Secondary were awarded with consolation prizes. The winners were given cash awards and certificates.
