Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): A woman was rescued from a cliff by a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) after she and her daughter were swept away by the Dzüchrü River, Phesama in Kohima district.
A press release from the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority on Sunday informed that the duo had slipped into the river while collecting ‘pig fodder’. The incident occurred around 2.30 pm.
A rescue team consisting SDRF, the Kohima District Disaster Management Authority and the local community members combed the area. The woman was sent to Bethel Hospital with multiple injuries, it informed.
“Inclement weather hampered the rescue operation tonight but will resume early tomorrow for the daughter.”
