Ginger unbleached gains in lacklustre trade

Mumbai, Sep. 7 (PTI): Ginger unbleached gained further in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here on good demand from stockists and retailers.

While, black pepper rd eased further owing to lower demand from stockists and retailers.

Meanwhile, rest all other spices ruled steady in absence of any large-scale buying activity.

Ginger unbleached rose by Rs 10 to Rs 210 per kg from Thursday’s closing level of Rs 200.

However, black pepper rd slid by Rs 10/10 to Rs 400/440 per kg as against Rs 410/450, yesterday.

Following are today’s closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 400/440 (410/450), ginger unbleached (per kg) 210 (200), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,200 (11,200), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,000 (11,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,200 (21,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,700 (14,700).
