Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): With the culmination of a fruitful academic year, Government High School, Phangsang, in Mokokchung district organised a three-day annual fest from November 4 to the 7th which saw events like sports, literary and cultural activities where the students actively participated and showcased their talents.
During the annual fest, students have participated in different sports activities like volleyball, athletics, while at the literary and cultural programme, students presented Hindi poem recitation, cultural dance and folk song, a press release issued by the school’s teacher-in-charge Kikumsungba said.
Senior-most teacher of the school, Moangtemjen, speaking at the programme, encouraged the students to focus on their studies and dream big to achieve success in life.
Stating that education is the best tool to bring a change in one’s life and also in the community, he urged the students not to neglect their studies but strive hard and become agents of change in the society. He also urged the parents to understand their children and take utmost care at home so that they become men and women of character as they grow up.
Head in-charge of the school Kikumsungba also spoke at the programme.
Government High School, Phangsang, is one of the most important government high schools under Chuchuyimlang EAC circle which caters to the educational needs of five villages namely Yaongyimti Old, Yaongyimti New, Chakpa and Longkong villages.
Meanwhile, the school lamented that the head teacher of the school was transferred in October 2019 and his replacement has not been made till date.
The three-day annual fest was conducted as part of the NBSE curriculum and as prelude to the final examinations which would begin from November 15.
