GHS Chare organises seminar to promote knowledge sharing
GHS Chare’s school development management committee conducted a one-day seminar aimed to empower the local community and foster knowledge-sharing among diverse stakeholders.
DIMAPUR — The school development management committee, GHS Chare, organised a one-day seminar on the theme ‘Evolving horizons – charting a visionary course’ on Friday at Town Hall, Chare, Tuensang.
The event was held as a social initiative to empower the community and promote knowledge-sharing among various stakeholders.
The seminar was graced by academician, lawyer, and writer Dr. Aniruddha Babar, who delivered two talks. The first talk, titled ‘Building a stronger India through intergenerational collaboration,’ emphasised the importance of intergenerational unity and cooperation in achieving justice, progress, and development.
He talked about the importance of understanding the ‘constitution of India’ and the modern legal system and urged civil society members, gaonburas, dobashis, and citizens to study and learn the ‘fundamental rights’ guaranteed by the constitution in order to protect themselves from any form of exploitation.
The second talk, ‘You are being summoned by the new world,’ focused on embracing change and adapting to new challenges in order to thrive in an ever-changing landscape, encouraging the next generation to become agents of change for the new world.
Dr. Aniruddha also expressed his concern about rising alcoholism, drug and tobacco addiction, and HIV prevalence among the youths in Nagaland. He advocated for tobacco-free zones and suggested sex education in schools.
Teacher Nycha Sangtam translated the resource person’s talk into Sangtam.
Tinuwati Jamir, DEO, Tuensang, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the importance of education and its role in shaping a brighter future for the community.
The seminar was attended by students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff of GHS Chare, gaonburas, academicians, scholars, church members, and members of civil societies.
Nungshikhoba Sangtam, head GB, Tsaru Village, delivered the closing remarks.
He expressed in his speech his desire for all sections of the population, regardless of tribe, caste, religion, race, clan, colour, gender, village, and so on, to come together and form a force for positive change in society and the nation at large.
