George Clooney is on a mission to save the world in new trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Midnight Sky’

Dimapur, Oct. 27 (EMN): After sharing screen space with Sandra Bullock in 2013’s Oscar winner Gravity, George Clooney is back again with another outer space adventure film ‘The Midnight Sky’ but this time he is not just starring but is on the director’s chair as well.

‘The Midnight Sky’ sees a heavily bearded George Clooney play as a cancer-stricken scientist holed up in an observatory in the Arctic with his daughter. A mysterious global catastrophe has befallen mankind and the pair must race against time to get to another station with a stronger antenna to warn an incoming group of astronauts about the conditions on Earth.

Based on the book Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton, the new trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Midnight Sky’ is out now and the visuals look stunning although the plot seems a tad too familiar. The film boasts an impressive cast led by George Clooney, Felicity Jones, Kyle Chandler, David Oyelowo, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone among others.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “This post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (George Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to Earth, where a mysterious global catastrophe has taken place.”
