DIMAPUR, JANUARY 4
CHIEF of Army Staff General Bikram Singh visited Jakhama today and reviewed the operational preparedness, security situation and progress made in the development of infrastructure in the Spear Corps.
On arrival, the General, accompanied by wife Bubbles Singh, was received by Lt. Gen SL Narasimhan, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps.
Lt. Gen Manmohan Singh Rai, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command, accompanied the Army Chief.
Gen Singh, who is also the Colonel of the SIKH LI Regiment, addressed the troops of 16 SIKH LI Battalion and interacted with them. 16 SIKH LI contingent participated in a ten-day joint training exercise termed “Hand in Hand 2013” in Kunming province in Southern China in November 2013, a defence release said.
