Dimapur, November 1 : A day after joining the NSCN-IM along with their followers, GDRN/NNC (N/A) president Khumcho Chilimong and ato kilonser Hangping Zeliang on Tuesday have declared dissolution of GDRN/NNC (N/A) on October 31. Announcing its allegiance to the NSCN-IM, Chilimong and Zeliang also declared that the GDRN/NNC (N/A) “shall no longer exist”. They, on behalf of all former members of GDRN/NNC, further assured that they will not affiliate with other organisation other than the NSCN-IM in future.
“Today we are here because of the people's need and demand of oneness. As we always believe that embracing unity can only bring meaningful solution to our Naga Nation,” they said in a release on Tuesday.
Stating that they have witnessed many failures through divisions and had seen enough of it, the former GDRN/NNC (N/A) leaders said, “So, the only key to achieve what we aim is only through unity.” Calling it their destiny to unite, they said they had taken the steps to merge with the NSCN-IM government for it. “It was not an easy task but it was through the almighty God, it is now possible,” they added.
“The NSCN government as we all believe is the only mandated organization of the Nagas, and it is such an honor to be a part of it,” Chilimong and Zeliang said while thanking the NSCN-IM government for honouring, accepting and embracing them even though they differed from one another in the past. “We are so proud to be under this banner to be one among you,” they added.
The NSCN-IM on Monday informed that 148 members from different Naga political organisations who stayed astray have now decided to join the revolutionary mainstream. The Joint Council of NSCN/GPRN consisting of steering executives, cabinet kilonsers, deputy kilonsers and heads of departments while welcoming them appreciated their bold decision keeping in mind the aspirations of the Nagas.
