Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): While stating that respect and honour are earned as per one’s performance, Secretary RD Commissioner MGNREVA and secretary to CM Nagaland Kelei Zeliang, urged GBs of Peren to uphold and deliver justice as per the assignment.
He was addressing the 12th General Conference of Peren District Dobashi’s Association at Jalukie on Nov. 11.
Informing that Nagaland has availed the facility of customary court under the provision of article 371(A) the Indian constitution, he urged the GBs to mak best use of it for the people.
Emphasizing against the practice of favouritism and pressure in delivering justice, Zeliang added that it is sin to give any judgment against our own conscience.
Most of the senior officials in Nagaland could not maintain their status solely because of the whimsical easy habit of intoxication, he said.
“To do away with corruption it is the responsibility of everyone, we should not pinpoint others but retrospect where we are in the system and that is the only panacea to do away with corruption today,” Zeliang said. He further appraised the gathering to change their mindset for better Nagaland.
The secretary also released “Zeliang Customary Law” book. Zarangthung Ezung DC Peren in his speech equated the dobashis in the district to that of a backbone of administration. He also elaborated the changing role of GBs in the present society.
