GAPYO (Green) in finals trouncing Kohima Hornbill CC

Wokha, Jan.5: GAPYO (Green) of Wokha defeated Kohima Hornbill CC in the fourth semi final league match by 51 Runs in 16.2 overs securing a place in the finals in the ongoing Winter Cricket Challenge on Thursday.
After winning the toss GAPYO elected to bat and was able to gather 143 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 over limitation.
Yanrenthung scored 42 Runs followed by Santsuthung who was retired hurt after hitting 41 runs in 41 balls and Gonesh with 17 Runs contributed to the team score.
For the Hornbill team , Bargish claimed 3 Wickets, Bicky 2 wickets and Kevi took 1 wicket.
In the second innings of the match, Kohima Hornbill CC had a disastrous start losing there top wickets including openers Probin and Ango without any runs. Tapitu and Bargish could make 31 and 18 Runs which was to less for the team to achieve their target.
Debojit claimed 4 Wickets, Myanbemo with Vinato claimed 3 Wickets each for GAPYO CC (Green).
Debojit was awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance claiming 4 Wickets in 4 overs with an economy of just 10 runs.
The Man of the Match was given away by Mr. Tokavi Achumi, Addl. SP Wokha along with cash award and certificate.
With already six points in the standings, GAPYO (Green) is set to play in the finals with only one team among the rest of having chances of equalling its points even if it loses Friday’s match with the Renegades.
