Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): Caught on the back foot following an allegation by the Naga Students’ Federation that the Raj Bhavan had betrayed the student community of Nagaland, the governor’s secretariat on Tuesday issued a statement denying the charge. According to a Raj Bhavan statement, the governor’s secretariat had instructed the authorities of Higher Education and Nagaland University to conduct quiz competition per instructions from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. “…during a meeting chaired by the governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya on 15th September at Raj Bhavan with government officers from the department of Higher Education, members of the Nagaland College Principals Association and Nagaland University representatives, after thorough deliberation and discussion, it was decided to honour the first, second and third place winners of the competition in kind and certificates and not with cash prizes,” it stated.
