Only gamers will understand the anticipation, the hype and the feeling of excitement as we wait for a new game to be released. And with 2016 being one of the best year for games, we can only expect more in 2017. There are so many games which have been announced and all gamers will enjoy the coming year whether you are a PC warrior or a console gamer. Everyone will probably have their own list of games to enjoy next year, but here are some of my picks for games to watch out for in 2017.

1. God of War
Kratos is back! and this time he looks even more awesome. If you own a Playstation, then God of War should definitely be on the top of your list. If you have missed out the Playstation E3 Demo of this game, you need to watch it on Youtube right now and I guarantee that you will be in awe. Whether it be the graphics, the gameplay or the story line, this game has all the right ingredients to give you goosebumps at every turn. Much like the previous games in the series, the latest God of War will involve fighting huge giant Monsters/Gods with earth shattering moves, bundled with great animations and sound effects. It is hard to ignore such a masterpiece and you will be glad to know that the same guy who made God of War II is responsible for Directing this next sequel.

2. Ghost Recon Wildlands
I have always been a fan of the Ghost Recon series and their previous game, “Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” was such a treat that I spent countless hours playing it over and over again. And this time, they are back with another exploding title. Wildlands is set in Bolivia, where your primary objective is to take down the Santa Blanca Cartel. Unlike the previous games in the sequel, Wildlands has now taken an open world approach, along with day/night cycle and weather effects. What this means is that you can replay the same mission during the day or at night, while it is sunny or stormy and taking advantage of these natural environments, you can decide how you want to complete your mission. Sure, there are lots of people complaining about the graphics, but I am absolutely certain that the gameplay will be awesome and this is one game i am really looking forward to.

3. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
This one is on my list simply because it will be “fun”, I mean who doesn’t enjoy taking a sniper rifle, taking a shot and watching the bullet in slow motion as it glides through the sky and into your target? I absolutely enjoyed Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, and this time will be just as fun. The graphics have improved vastly and I’m glad that the gameplay is just as good. You can modify your weapons to your liking as you finish your mission. The map is huge this time and the story is character driven unlike most First person shooter where your mission is to save the world and it is absolutely refreshing to go through this type of story line in a game like this.

4. Days Gone
Here’s another Playstation title and this one made the list simply because the trailer looked seriously amazing! Days Gone takes place in a world where hoards of zombies have taken over everything and the extinction of the human race is at its peak. Anyone who watches this gameplay trailer will be reminded of the movie World War Z because the way the zombies behave is very similar to it, the way they run towards you, the way they climb on top of each other like mindless hungry animals will surely get your heart pumping. The graphics look great and I’m sure that this game will also have an equally great story line.

5. Prey
Sci-fi horror games usually end up being a hit and watching the gameplay trailers make this game sound like it will be really scary and fun at the same time. Prey takes place in the year 2035 inside a space station where some hostile aliens have entered the station and your mission is to stop them before they break containment and destroy the entire world. Unlike most games which take place in space stations, where you are confined to the inside of the station, this game will also allow you to explore even outside of the space station in zero gravity as you try to find shortcuts to different areas of the station. The main thing which looks intriguing about this game is the fact that the aliens look like shadows, taking up different forms and I’m certain that this game will be full of dangerous dark corners where you will be kept in suspense the whole time.
