The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations, issued updates to the media on Saturday informing about the festival. Addressing the occasion as its special guest, the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung district, Rajesh Soundararajan said the experiences from the past three days are a testament to all the virtues that make up the essence of the Tsungremong Festival as people from all walks of life come together to participate and share the message of love and brotherhood. Soundararajan pointed to the participation of cultural troupes from within and outside the district and even from neighbouring Assam. “We can come together and unite as a community and village to strengthen the bond of brotherhood,” he said. The administrator appealed to the people to live by the celebrated virtues even after the festival is over. He urged them to strive forward and harvest not only what one produces but also harvest ‘peace, brotherhood, health and a promising future.’ The special guest gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions that were conducted during the three-day long festival.
