Dimapur, Feb. 26 (EMN): Describing the Gaonburas (GB) as custodian of the village administration, minister of Agriculture and Cooperation, G Kaito Aye, has urged them to uphold peace and unity also look after the welfare of the public with sincerity, honesty and dedication.
Kaito stated this during the 27th biennial general conference of the Satoi Range GBs’ Association (SRGBA) in Khuvuxu village under Zunheboto district on February 24 as the special guest. He called upon them to implement all the welfare schemes granted by the government with transparency and accountability for the benefits of the village community. He also informed that the backward fund allotted for Satoi block under the Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) would be supervised by the Satoi Range GBs’ Association in the future.
Kaito also informed that the tribal girls hostel under Tribal Affairs would also be constructed at Satoi headquarters. He further exhorted the students community to have a competitive spirit in their academic career and avail opportunity under Nagaland Staff Selection Board and others exams.
The additional education officer and guest speaker, Jolly K Awomi, called upon the association members to take the lead in fostering unity and mutual respect among the community under Satoi range.
Informing that students enrolment in government primary and high schools under Satoi range have declined in recent years, she called upon the students’ union to look into the students’ affairs for quality education in the region. She further advocated ‘dignity of labour’ and to shun ‘clanism’ among the Sumi community.
