Kohima, March 13 (EMN): The 1st Futsal tournament under the aegis of the OLOGOC- One Life, One Goal, One Chance Club got underway at Zasevi Futsal Arena, Jotsoma with 37 teams from across the state vying for the trophy on Friday.

Dr. Kevichalie Metha, Pastor, Peraciezie Baptist Church, Kohima while addressing the team members during the inaugural and oath-taking ceremony stressed on self-control and urged the young players to learn to discipline oneself not only in sports but in every aspect of life.

He also gave an example on the life of Samson from the Bible on how he lost his strength due to the negativity around him that then overpowered his God’s gifted strength. In this regard, he challenged the youth to overcome such instances in life, learn to stand before the wrong turns and march towards a better and happier life.

Meanwhile, the club’s President Kevisilie Chielie briefed the inception and the purpose of the club and said it was formed in 2019 by a group of young men with the vision, “to bring out the better youth in all, for a better tomorrow”.

Further, Chielie said the “mission is to drive them towards their passion in sports, art and other inclusive activities; determined to make our city eco-friendly.”

He described the tournament as the first step to initiate a clean environment and also added, “Be Habitual to live in a green and clean environment” to support Eco-friendly Healthy City.

The tournament will culminate on March 14 while the winning team will receive a cash prize of INR 30,000.
