DIMAPUR — The funeral service for Ghukhui Zhimomi, member of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB), was held on Saturday at his residence at Diphupar B, Relkameno. He passed away on March 29 after a brief illness.

Speaking at the funeral service, Sedevikho Khro, chairman of NSSB, highlighted that when NSSB was established in the year 2020, there was a need for a suitable person to ensure an effective, transparent, and meritocracy-based system of recruitment, according to a DIPR report.

Zhimomi was then appointed as one of the founding members of NSSB on February 14, 2021, he said, noting that Zhimomi was instrumental in the successful conduct of the first-ever examination of NSSB in the year 2022, which was also the largest examination ever conducted in Nagaland, with more than 50,000 candidates in 11 districts and 111 examination centres in the state.

He further highlighted that Zhimomi had a lifelong career as an engineer in the erstwhile Irrigation and Flood Control Department and took voluntary retirement to take an active part in public service on December 19, 2011.
